Postsecondary educational institutions need to offer programs that are relevant for both current employment needs as well as future ones. In addition to the knowledge and skill elements of the curriculum, there are other areas of importance that can enhance the preparation of students in a program. They are often responsible for the differentiation between one school's curriculum and that of another.
Whether providing a short, skills-based program or a longer, degree granting program, schools are seeking to add more and more to their offerings in response to the diverse skills that employers are requiring.
