The Management Institute
The Management Institute is designed for school managers, aspiring school directors or campus presidents, and
school leaders with less that 3 years of experience. This program explains the fundamentals on which new and aspiring
school managers can develop skills that will make them effective school leaders.
Participants return to their schools after being exposed to new management practices, ideas, and understandings.
They are given a binder of course materials to keep.
The 60-hour program is divided into four modules. Each one includes comprehensive information on each topic,
activities that promote group interaction, and actual application/planning opportunities for campus improvement.
Information is shared during lectures/discussions, in print, and during interactive group activities. The main topics
and their respective training activities are directly related to the four primary departmental functions in a school.
Module 1, "Managing the Admissions Process," covers basic advertising and marketing,
the enrollment management process, ethical issues, hiring, training, coaching, evaluation, and termination.

Module 2, "Managing the Education Process," covers approaches to curriculum
development, instructor recruitment and training, education staff development, supervision strategies, managing
attrition, evaluation, termination, legal issues, and leadership styles.

Module 3, "Managing the Student Services Process," covers designing a retention plan, outstanding customer
service, student activities, developing the student placement office, recordkeeping, student advising, developing an
effective survey system, and leadership development.

Module 4, "Managing the Finance and Operations Process," covers the regulatory
world, basics of financial aid, developing an effective financial aid/business office, default prevention, key items
and financial statements, quality assurance standards, hiring and training staff, and leadership.

The Management Institute is presented in accord with the principles of the Total School Effort®, which is
a philosophy of school/campus management developed by Training Masters. TSE integrates all of the positions and

and the school.
