KlickerZ®
KlickerZ software and hand-held remote units are great learning aids for postsecondary students in career schools,
community colleges, universities and colleges. Any instructional presentation can be enhanced by using KlickerZ to foster
an energized, active learning environment. Adding interactive questions to PowerPoint® programs makes them
much more engaging, since students are actively involved. The instructor and the students can instantly review
response statistics which enhances interest and stimulates discussion.
KlickerZ software contains several applications.
The Quiz Program is used to create interactive quizzes to be presented to groups. Users create banks
of multiple choice or true-false questions and store them on a hard drive or removable media. Quizzes can then be
constructed simply by selecting questions from the files. Different versions of a quiz can easily be created for different
classes. As the quiz is presented, individual or group responses or scores can be displayed and reviewed. Running
totals are stored and final scores can be saved. Using the quiz as a review before a test is a great application of
KlickerZ, since instructors can immediately determine how many of the students respond correctly to each question.
Immediate correction or reinforcement from the instructor significantly supports the learning process.
The First Response Game Program operates very much like the quiz program. However, when the first
response to a question is received, the rest of the participants are locked out. If that first response is correct, the
person is given one point and the instructor starts the process again by moving on to the next question. If the first
response is incorrect, that student is locked out and the others are given a chance to respond, since they will not
know how the first student answered. The procedure is continued until a correct response is obtained. Scores are
constantly updated and are visible at all times on the screen. The game feature of KlickerZ reinforces learning in a
fun, engaging way. Students love to make up the questions, too!
The PowerPoint Add-in Program is easy to use and makes PowerPoint presentations come alive!
Place questions and question buttons on any slide. Students respond using their remote control units. The instructor
can reveal individual or group responses at any time. Insert a totals button on any screen, and use it to reveal total
scores anytime throughout the program. Students scores can be shown in a bar graph at any time. Question and
totals buttons can be added to screens in programs that already exist or can be added as new programs are created.
KlickerZ can help you develop a fantastic bank of shareware! Instructors can post their KlickerZ programs at
Training Masters' Forum, enabling other instructors to have access to them. A secure area of the forum can
be created for schools that want to share presentations only among their own staff members, or they can post and
share with the world! Imagine what an incredible resource library instructors can have at their fingertips! Contact
Training Masters to set up your institution's secure area on our forum.
KlickerZ is not limited to use with students. Campus or corporate personnel responsible for staff development and
other meetings can enhance participation and interest by developing presentations that incorporate the use of KlickerZ.
Wherever PowerPoint presentations are used, KlickerZ can make them more dynamic. When audience participation
is desired, KlickerZ can make a program more effective. Use KlickerZ in the classroom with students, in a training session
with faculty and staff, at a meeting where feedback is desired, at an orientation session and so forth.
Training Masters supports and participates in campus contests for students who create "klickerized" PowerPoint
