Postsecondary

Student Retention Services

Training Masters provides retention services to individual schools or to multiple-school organizations tailored to a specific company's needs and goals. By assisting schools in the diagnosis of student attrition causes and trends, practices that have high potential for improving student retention are identified and organized into Retention Action Plans (RAPS). Schools often modify their policies and procedures during this process, but then find that they are not supporting the retention efforts. Retention Rallies that generate high levels of enthusiasm and total school involvement, "Retention Quick Calls" that provide for immediate exchange of challenges and best practices among schools, partial or full-day workshops that focus on building high retention classrooms and schools, and in-service or keynote speaker engagements are available.

Faculty Development Services

Instructors teach the way they were taught, unless they are taught to teach differently. An instructor's behaviors, attitudes, and actions influence the classroom environment more than any other factor. The instructor is a major influence in a student's decision to continue with school or to drop out. In order to increase instructional effectiveness, Training Masters has several training support services that complement schools' faculty development efforts. A CD-ROM program called "Pursuing Instructional Excellence" (PIE) builds both individual instructor skills, as well as faculty commitment and culture which play a huge part in student and school success. Numerous other in-service programs and workshops are available. In addition, Training Masters provides support services as schools strive to establish career ladders for instructors and education managers.

Staff Development Services

Too often campus employees on the support staff are not included in in-service sessions or skills workshops. Yet, they have important roles that contribute to the institution's success. An important and positive impact can result if more attention is given to their understanding of general school operations, how their roles can enhance overall campus effectiveness, and to what they can do to better support the strategies and goals of the school. As a matter of fact, not paying attention to staff development can undermine efforts. Training Masters offers services to connect support staff to the "total school effort" in a way that increases performance, job satisfaction, and loyalty.

Management Development Services

Training Masters offers "The Management Institute" to train new and aspiring school directors and campus presidents. (See Products Section.) In addition to this successful program, management development services are available which are designed to support the manager or the manager-in-training with fundamental material and attention to the goal of helping the school leader to achieve success.

Curriculum Development Services

As information and technology continue to rapidly expand the need to know, understand, and perform in society, the curriculum taught in schools needs to change and offer relevant material. In addition, learning opportunities for students to develop strong individual and team performance capabilities are increasingly stressed. Training Masters' specialists can support and coordinate the curriculum development process or develop an entire program. Relationships with reputable publishing companies enhance the development of course textbooks and/or support materials which can include Training Masters' KlickerZ® interactive software and hand-held remote system, providing an exciting interactive learning.

Leadership Training Services

Training Masters offers several programs in leadership development and works with schools and educational companies to customize programs that build leadership potential and performance. Programs focus on Training Masters' unique "Total School Effort" model and on factors influencing individual effectiveness. Compliance and Operational Improvement Reviews

Schools often spend so much time and energy reviewing key performance areas and planning recovery steps from missed targets, that the evaluation of overall strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats is sometimes overlooked. This process often discovers "trip ups" and other snags that have been become customary practices that need re-evaluated, changed, or eliminated. In addition, some realignments and/or new arrangements in the way business is conducted may bring new energy and effectiveness to the processes. Training Masters takes an objective view of a campus or school's operations. Regardless of the number of performance areas that need to be examined, a focus on effectiveness and efficiency can result in suggestions for improvements.

Accreditation/Approval Assistance

Preparing for initial accreditation or re-accreditation, state approvals, and other agency reviews is a tedious process. Many details must be addressed and presented in a clear, concise, organized, accurate, and thorough fashion. Training Masters offers whatever level of support and assistance is needed which may vary from school to school, campus to campus. Basic or complete reviews of materials and processes—such as self-study critiques—are available from the Training Masters team.

Work Performance Coaching

Too often, campuses and educational organizations fall short of expected performance levels and anticipated goals because of issues like communication gaps, lack of understanding of oneself and/or others, turnover, cooperative pitfalls, leadership shortcomings, etc. Individual coaching enhances personal and professional effectiveness, while group coaching builds the strong connections that facilitate the achievement of goals.
